Vocabulary Scattergories Categories Comaprison Activities for ANY Class or Content Area
Like the games Scattergories and Last Word, this activity uses fun categories for students to make those important "connections" to the vocabulary/terminology in ANY class; it is also excellent for any literature unit when comparing characters.
Document includes over 200 different categories, conveniently arranged in a table for easy copying and cutting for cards. The categories are also placed in lists (like in the game Scattergories). The topics, however, are more relevant to students than those you may find in those games.
I've also included directions and a student handout to use as a vocabulary activity for Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Art, Music, Literature/Reading, Business, Driver's Ed., Health, Home Economics, Computer Science, etc. Plus, it includes a literature comparison activity and directions for other uses for the game, such as a fun end-of-the-period closing activity. And the best thing--no set up! Once you've copied and cut the cards, you're done. Keep them in a zip lock bag, old coffee canister, jar, or envelope. I have one set in my desk drawer & one set in my podium drawer so they're always handy.
