Simplify your literacy centers with this collection of 12 independent activities and partner games that can be used with Word Wall words, spelling pattern words, or vocabulary words from any reading series or book study.
Complete and post the included chart of your new words, introduce 3 of the activities each week, and begin a monthly rotation of enriching word work activities. I can take most of these center activities and apply them to my word work station with just a bit of modeling. My students will enjoy the variety of choices and appreciate something new to do at that work station.

I've been teaching for 26 years, with the majority of my experience being in first grade. I taught Reading Recovery for 5 years, and that experience has impacted every day of my teaching since! For the past 10 years, I've enjoyed teaching a first grade literacy intervention class. It has also been my privilege to present various workshops on literacy topics at the local, state, and national level. My goal is to ignite a passion for reading and writing in young learners.
