I LOVE getting my students ready for a word parade! It is such a great way to expand their vocabularies and speak in front of the class! Although this lesson can honestly be done at any point in the year, it lends itself to being done around Halloween since most kiddos will already have existing costumes ready and waiting to be used!

My class is diverse this year, so I didn't get to try it. However, I hope to try it next year!

This is a fantastic word study unit! I cannot wait to do this with my second graders. This is a great alternative to the Halloween costumes too. It keeps things toned down and adds an academic flair! Thank you, Amanda!

I love this unit and plan to use i t!!!! What is the difference between this and your starter kit? Thanks! Cindy
Hi, Cindy! For some reason, many of my disabled/inactive products showed up over the weekend. I have deactivated them again. The vocabulary on parade packet is a much more comprehensive... much cuter version of my old starter kit. :) Sorry for the confusion!
Hi-How long do you spend on this unit? I am pondering it for Halloween but need to know the amount of time that you dedicated to it, leading up to the Parade. Thanks!

Hi! I worked this into my lessons over the course of two weeks. I sent home the parent letters as early as I could to give them time to plan. They had to write out their plans and show me after the first week to make sure everyone was on the right track. :) I hope you enjoy it!!!!
