This pack includes 8 Valentine-themed math centers for the month of February, aligned with the First Grade Common Core Standards. However, it could also be used for advanced K or remediation in 2nd.

I teach with Math in Focus/Singapore math and tried to include activities that relate to my curriculum, too.

Included are:

Activity #1: Sweet Number Stories (solving story problems)

Activity #2: Read It! Write it! (reading number words 1-120)

Activity #3: A Sweet Treat Size Up (non-standard measurement with candy hearts candies)

Activity #4: Cookie Comparisons (making greater than and less than comparisons and deciding whether or not it is true or false)

Activity #5: Sweet Sorting (reading greater than and less than comparisons that contain numerals and base ten blocks and deciding whether it is true or false}

Activity #6: Making Tens Treat (applying the make 10 strategy to solving addition problems with 3 addends)

Activity #7: Graphing Goodies (graphing and interpreting data with numbers less than or equal to 10)

Activity #8: Sweet on Number Bonds (composing and decomposing number 11-20, plus creating matching addition/subtraction equations)

Please ask any questions about the activities before purchasing. Thanks and have a great day!

~ Abby

I am unable to copy the free download Sweet Number Stories. Do you know why? I am able to download and print other free downloads from Teachers Pay Teachers.

This is an easy fix, so no worries! It sounds like you need to change your settings so Adobe Reader is the primary viewer over preview. Try that out and let me know if you have any further issues :)

I love this packet! Parts of the recording sheets printed out very light and did not pick up well on the copier. It was most noticable on the graphing sheets witht the small pictures. If possible, I would recommend doing them in all black.

Thanks for the suggestion :) Can you make them darker on your copier at school? Just an idea :)

Hi This is the second time I have submitted this question so TpT must be playing games.
I love the We Love Math except that it has a problem for Australians (probably those from the UK as well) When we read and write a 3 digit number, we use the word "and"
eg 115 is read and written as One hundred and fifteen.
I notice that in the USA, you don't do use the "and"
One of the reasons I bought this unit was that it uses numbers to 120 but now I can't use the number word cards as they are not the correct usage model for Australians. Could you please address this concern by inserting the word "and" and perhaps having a separate download for those who live outside the USA. Regards Carmel

Carmel, I did respond to your question (see below).

Here is my response: Sorry, I had no idea about the difference, but do encourage customers to ask any questions they might have before purchasing the item (stated in the description of the item). In the U.S. the "and" indicates a decimal, which is why it was left out. I value you as a customer and would be happy to email you a separate set of the numbers 100-120, but probably won't get to it until this weekend. Email me at babblingabby(at)gmail(dot)com if you're still interested.

Thanks and have a great day!

Hello,

I just purchased this unit Sunday and love it. I have a question. I need coins and time to add to my math stations and wanted to know if you are able to put a few of those together to add to it/this unit?? I have time and money but nothing for Valentines Day theme and I'm not very creative. If you can't I understand but if you can please email and let me know and how much it will be. I teach First grade and we've covered the basics with coins and time.
Thank you,
Jeanie

Jeanie, I'm sorry, but I doubt I will be able to do that for this activity pack. It comes down to time more than anything else! I will keep your suggestion in mind for future packs, though. Thanks for your purchase and inquiry. Have a great day!

Am I missing a step or a code or something?
Thanks Carmel (from Australia)
