(15 pages) This is the second part of our tornado study, and perhaps the most interesting. Multiple simple activities are included. First, students will cut out and assemble three tornado models that, when placed on an included map, show the size/scale of different tornadoes. A second activity has students graph tornado frequency data (or they can do the research themselves - form included). Both month of year and time of day data are included. Finally, students are asked to find/research evidence (pictures) of tornado strength. These are simple, but interesting tasks, and many students find this to be the most interesting of our two sets of tornado actvities.
Great use of charts for obtaining data. Good practice for this subject. The tornado cut outs were not as meaningful as the photos, they took a little too much time for what they were worth-- but the photo examples were excellent!
I will definitely use this again!
