This 26 slide powerpoint is the perfect companion to teach the Ellen Raskin novel, "The Westing Game". Fully animated with artwork and pictures on each slide, it includes slides on the author, anticipation guide, main character analysis, genre, Sunset Towers graphic organizer, and cast of players. Created by Beverly Brown, it also includes 2 sets of vocabulary words (with definitions and pictures for each word), and 3 quizes. Special bonus slides are included explaining the stock market, obituaries (linked to a website), and the song, "America the Beautiful", on which the clues to the game are based. I guarantee you will not be disappointed with your purchase.
This was a great resource when teaching this challenging, but fun book.

When I read the book aloud to my class this will be a great tool to help them focus on the story line.

The facts were not accurate. The author is not living in NYC, but died in 1984! Also, there was one quiz for chapters 1-4 and the next quiz was for chapters 19-20.
Thanks for your comments. I appreciated you pointing out the mistake. I have corrected the death date. But there ARE three quizzes included in this powerpoint. Chapters 1-4, chapters 11-14, and chapters 19-20. I hope you enjoy using this powerpoint as you teach this wonderful novel.
Happy Teaching,
Beverly Brown
Thanks for your comment. I'm always trying to improve my products, and I noticed that you rated accuracy and thoroughness lower than the other categories. What do you feel is inaccurate and needs to be more thorough? I would love to improve it. I will send you an edited copy to your personal email. In the meantime, good luck with your unit!
