I use this writing activity with my 1st graders every year. I have them fill out the graphic organizer, then write about their 1st grade experiences. I bind them into a book and pass them to the Kindergarten teachers to read to their students. I also read it to my new class of 1st graders on the first day of school.

Great planning tool for this writing. I've done this in the past, but I think I'll get better writing next year when they plan it out! :)
