What do Photosynthesis and Respiration Look Like?

This reinforcing, anchoring LP takes one class period. It is ideal for inclusion, differentiation and multiple intelligences. It requires a text or on-line reference. I use Prentice Hall Life Science, Science Explorer Text 2002 edition. Whatever reference you have available for your students, this product simply requires replacing the associated pages using your references for each topic.

The topics included are intended to reinforce and anchor what has been already been covered in a photosynthesis/cell respiration unit.
This is a hands-on and visual application to student notes. I make 1 class set of instructions; I also provide animal, leaf, sun, and water images for students to copy. If classes are small they may be printed out and given to students to cut out and paste to enhance their poster projects.

This activity includes 1 student page of instructions, 6 questions to complete, criteria for poster project, and reference sites; 1 teacher’s key; 1 set of images that may be used or traced by students-mostly to give you the idea, I use images of native plants and animals for my students (3 pages total Doc and PDF formats). Easily modified for higher or lower grade levels.

Assessment is based on how many points are assigned to each question/response and according to how well the poster criteria have been fulfilled.

Allow a 50 – 60 minute block to complete activities, more according to student pacing.
