Where Are You? introduces children to plotting points on a grid in a way that is unique and individual for each student. Children first read the easy to follow directions card. Then number the side and bottom of a grid. Next they randomly draw 4 small pictures anywhere that 2 lines cross. Once this is done, children will write directions on how to find each of their drawings on the grid. For example: The child drew a dog at point 3,4 on the grid and then writes "Go over 3 and go up 4. You will find a dog."
My second graders loved this creative way of plotting points and it's a sure way to foster independence and individuality while learning.
