These are two great like-new books to enhance your study of the Presidents, Washington D.C., or the White House. "Ghosts of the White House" is narrated by a young girl whose class is going on a field trip in the White House. She, however, is given a private tour by the ghosts of the White House. You'll find lots of trivia and colorful drawings of the people, place, and things there. "A Kid's Guide to the White House" is the opposite. It is a serious look at the modern White House and its history. Some of the chapters are:The First Families, The White House Tour, and White House Q and A. There are tons of photos, both black and white and color sprinkled throughout this 95 page paperback book, along with facts, figures, and an occasional puzzle related to information given in the book. Both are easy to use.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Grades Taught:
Subject Area:

I am a retired language teacher with 30 years of experience teaching French and ESL at the high school level. I helped to create the ESL program at our school when it became clear in the mid 1990's that our immigrant student population was growing very quickly , and we had no plan for how to educate them effectively. While I loved teaching French, teaching ESL was my passion! I taught everything from grammar to reading and usually found myself creating all my own materials as there was very little to choose from in the first several years of our program.
