This fun activity is based on Brown Bear, Brown Bear, but has a cute wintertime twist. The file has 13 pages and shows items that make up a snowman, for example, "White snowflake, white snowflake, what do you see? I see a grey hat looking at me." The last page shows the assembled snowman. Primary and secondary colors are included, along with white, black, brown, grey and pink. I use this book during my snowman unit - I have it laminated, three-hole punched and put together with rings to make a flip book. I also have the various items made out of felt to extend the activity; you could also do this or just use the flip book on its own. It is fun for the children to figure out what the items are making as you read. The activity reinforces colors as well as possibly introducing vocabulary (earmuffs, scarf).
