This book is a great resource for any teacher, novice or veteran. It includes ideas that either we didn't learn about in college, or forgot long ago. It goes beyond theory and infuses standards and best practices in one comprehensive book. It includes a plethora of ideas, tips, tools, and activities. Sections include "Framing the Learning & Questioning," "Learning is NOT a Spectator Sport," "Surprise! You're a Reading Teacher!" "Assessment 101," etc. 315 pages long.

I have worked with a number of grades, between the regular school year and summer school, including 6th - 12th grade.
