The scale factor between two proportional objects, compared to the ratio of their surface areas and the ratio of their volumes demonstrates why giants, Godzilla, and King Kong don't exist. This is a look at why animals have the proportions they have for their size and environment. Students will look at body temperature, bone and muscle strength, and air resistance and then answer questions about different mammals, reptiles, and insects.
