Here is the perfect non-fiction cross curricular unit to jump start your new year. This unit comes with everything you need in order to immerse your students in the cold Arctic Tundra. The unit includes a focus poem with two extension activities. Also included is a cute long i word sort that would be perfect in your word work station. If you're looking for math stations look no further, because included are two math station activities and a Arctic Animal story problem booklet. You'll also get a circle map, non-fiction reporting paper and suggested literature to make your unit complete.
Updated Materials: Even though penguins aren't found in the Arctic I've included seperate materials to accompany any penguin study. There is suggested literature, non-fiction writing papers, a penguin story problem booklet and a penguin themed math game.
I fell in love with this unit immediately. I teach 1st grade and every year each first grade class takes one habitat and celebrates it in their classroom for Open House. My habitat is the polar regions and sometimes it is hard to find new ideas that are more than a polar bear or penguin. Thanks so much

I'm interested in buying your Winter Animals Unit. However, I read your ratings & comments and found that someone mentioned you had included penguins in worksheets related to the Arctic rather than Antarctic. I'm wondering if you have had a chance to make this correction?
Thank you. Christina
Yes, I did fix that but I included seperate penguin materials that you could use when you study penguins. So it's like getting extra materials that you can use seperately at anytime during a winter animal study. None of the penguin materials are referenced with the animals of the Arctic. Let me know if you have any more questions.
