This Winter Pattern Perfect unit is aligned with the additional Kansas Mathematics Additions to the Common Core Standards (Algebraic Patterning). I use these pages after I teach a pattern. The kids love that I give them the opportunity to "create" their own patterns with the colors that they choose.
Included are AB, ABC, AAB, and ABB pattern design worksheet pages with coloring and painting instructions.
There are two blank pages for the students to select their own pattern type, and then each different pattern has a separate labeled painting/coloring pages as well. At the end I included a combined page where all four pattern types are listed on the same page for review/assessment.
**As an addition to this pattern unit, I have included "letter helpers" for those student who are not quite ready for individual work. This way they can still be working on the same thing as their peers if needed.
Painting is always a highlight in our day, so why not make it meaningful! :)

I have been teaching Kindergarten for 4 years, but my teaching journey began in 2003 in a 6th grade classroom teaching English and Reading. God knew what he was doing when he encouraged me to make this huge jump, and I love spending my days in this new and exciting world with 5 year olds! I am very excited that I get this opportunity to share the incredible resources that make my Kindergarten classroom so successful.
