Get ready...get set...for the easiest math centers you have ever laid your eyes on! As a teacher, I try very hard to create meaningful centers that require my students to apply new skills all while participating in fun and engaging activities. Independent centers are a great way to see a student's application of skills. Centers are GREAT! The preparation, however is not always the favorite for many teachers.
If you love the thought of engaging math centers, but you do not love the thought of all of the preparation, Winter Wonderland Math Centers are just for you! This unit includes 14 math centers that will have your students practicing basic skills such as addition, subtraction, place value and much more! The best part...the only preparation needed - cut out your students' number cards (which could technically be cut by the students).
Directions for each activity are located on the response sheets. During each activity, the students will be using their number cards to create and manipulate numbers. This means that the level of difficulty all depends on the student. They can create one, two, three or four digit numbers (or greater). Students can work in partners or independently to complete their centers. You can have 1-2 centers per week or introduce them all and allow students to choose which center they complete each day.

I have two of your math game centers already and love them! I like how they change theme rather than games so my kids don't have to learn new ones. The change in theme is enough to keep them interested. I also love how they can play the same game multiple times and get different numbers each time so the game doesn't "get old". Thank you!

I just purchased your January and February math centers and can't wait to use them, but there was a problem with downloading the January file. The Feb. file downloaded just fine, but I have tried three times to download the Jan. centers and each time I try to open it, I get a message that the file is damaged/corrupt and cannot be opened. Is this something you can resolve, or do I need to contact someone at TPT directly? Thanks!

The great thing about these math centers is that you only need to use the activities that address your standards. Rather than focusing on money, allow your students to really develop addition, subtraction, and place value skills. Don't feel like you have to incorporate every center. TEACHING EXPERIENCE

During my short teaching career, I have never stayed in one place too long! :) I've been teaching for six years - 4 years in 1st grade,1 year in 2nd, and have now moved on to 3rd grade just this year. Looping has presented many challenges, but I have enjoyed all of the wonderful experiences that this model of teaching can offer. I adore my job and am always looking for ways to improve my instruction in the classroom. I have quickly learned that when you make learning magical, that is when it truly sticks for the "long haul".
