Wisdom of the Irish Proverb for Windows PC

Wisdom of the Irish Proverb is a fun program teachers can use in the classroom to introduce students to these interesting tidbits and also stimulate their mental juices. The program can be used on screen, on an overhead projection, or on a whiteboard to stimulate class interest.

Lesson Plan

Introduce students to the proverb and their importance in Irish history.
Use Wisdom of the Irish Proverb to project the proverbs (50 of them) on screen.
You can ask the class to suggest meanings for the proverbs orally or on a sheet of paper.

As a writing assignment students can also ‘translate’ each of the proverbs into their own simple statements.

This program does not need to be installed on your computer. Save the zip file to a folder on your desktop and unzip with winzip. Double click the .exe file and you are up and running.
