This personal dictionary is a great resource for students when they are writing. All of the words from A-Z are high frequency words (K-3) and there are a few thematic pages at the end (food, family, animals, etc.). There are blank lines on each page so students can add words to their books. When we study certain words, we highlight them in yellow. When a student is looking for a word on their own, he/she highlights it purple. To make: take all the pages (minus the cover) and copy them back to back, cut in half and put in order. You can staple or bind them.
Great resource, but I wish there was a blank page with lines on the right for extra words and they were in alphabetical order for those of us that don't have duplex printing capabilities.
This is my 14th year teaching! First I taught 2nd grade in French for 5 years at an immersion school then I moved to Alaska and taught 2nd grade in English for 3 years and finally I've been teaching 1st grade in English for the past 6 years.
