I used this activity at my word building center during our jungle theme.
Each student draws a cvc word card and reads the word. They then write the word in the box with the arrow and illustrate it to show they understood what they read. Next, they place the cvc card on the work mat and read the new word that the silent e creates. Finally, they write the new word and illustrate it in the box across from the corresponding cvc word to show they can read the new word they created. They complete this process 4 times to complete the worksheet that is included.
This packet contains 8 cvc word cards, a work mat and worksheet.

I have been teaching for eleven years now. With five years teaching Kindergarten I am off on a new adventure as the reading specialist and I am loving every second of it!
