I hope you like this newly revised version of my old product! I use these puzzles during guided reading when we cover a new word family. This set has 5 words from each of the following word families: -at, -an, -et, -en, -ip, -ig, -ot, -og, -un, and -ut
This product addresses the following Common Core Standards for Kindergarten:
F.K.1. Demonstrate understanding of the organization and basic features of print.�Recognize that spoken words are represented in written language by specific sequences of letters.��
RF.K.2. Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes).�Recognize and produce rhyming words.�Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words.1 (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)�
RF.K.3. Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.�Distinguish between similarly spelled words by identifying the sounds of the letters that differ.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for almost 13 years, most of them spent teaching pre-K and kindergarten. I also have experience teaching up to 3rd grade. I have used my love of reading to develop a set of 30 phonics-based beginning reading books for use in preschool-first grade. In addition, I have developed sets of reading games and math games that can be used in the classroom or as take-home activities and can be adjusted to address various skill levels. I also have a range of hands on, cut-and-glue materials which keep young students engaged. They have proven to be a success in my own classroom and I'm excited to share them on Teachers Pay Teachers!
