Here is are 10 pages of Visual Word Puzzles (9 puzzles on each page) plus answer keys. There are 3 difficulty levels:
-1 star, easy (4 pages)
-2 stars, medium (4 pages)
-3 stars hard (2 pages)
This resource was updated in September 2011 with color, which means it is perfect for the document camera or to laminate and use with dry erase pens at a center! It will still copy fine in grayscale for individual use.
These puzzles are a favorite with both children and adults and are a great way to practice lateral thinking skills!

My 8th graders enjoyed working on this in their free time. I wasn't sure if these would be a little easy for them, but it kept them busy for quite awhile! Thanks for providing the easy to read answer key!

Lots of fun. Fifth graders this week enjoyed the ones they could figure out. Many of the sayings were new to them but then again ... so was this type of puzzle. More practice! Good for the brain!

The puzzles were fun, but I gave it to a 3rd grade class and they had trouble. Many of the sayings or phrases were unfamiliar to them. I had to explain "feeling under the weather" and "hitting below the belt". That being said, if you take the time to pick out the ones you are sure your students will recognize, it was a great resource!
