This file consists of a Hollywood/Movie version of my easy to use and maintain word sorting schedule.
I've always struggled with finding a way to visually display what each of my groups are doing with their word sorts. This display has taken away this problem.
I have five groups which rotate through 8 activities. I meet with one group each day to introduce their word sort. This leaves me 3 days to meet with strugglers or do a reading conference or two!
This pack comes with a movie strip header, popcorn boxes which describe 13 different word sorting activities and popcorn pieces which will be your groups.
How it works: once it is set up as in the pictures, you simply move the popcorn down a box! The popcorn box tells each group what activity they are doing with their word sort. Easy!

Generally my kids spend 10 minutes each day on a word sorting activity (although it generally takes longer when I'm first introducing them).
The activities I've included for you to choose from are:
New word sort, Cut, Sort and Check, Buddy Sort, Blind Sort, Word Hunt, Speed Sort, Blind Writing Sort, Sort/Glue and Reflect, Play a Game, Sentences, Draw and Label, Change a Letter and S.A.W. (Sort, Alphabetize, Write).
I chose 8 of these, but you can choose however many you want (e.g. 5, one for each day of the week).
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
