Do you have students who rush to finish their work, sacrificing quality for timeliness? This rubric provides the student with an incentive for slowing down and concentrating on producing quality work. The student, the teacher, or both can use this rubric to assess the quality of the work based on four categories: neatness, completion, accuracy and understanding. This rubric can be laminated and posted for reference or can be photocopied and stapled to each piece of work. It can be used with the whole class or just students who need to focus on the quality of their work.
I used this rubric with students as a part of their response to intervention(RTI)plan.

I have 17 years of experience on several different continents - North America, Africa, and Asia. I have taught in a rural school in Michigan, Chicago Public Schools and Wilmette District 39 in Illinois, Tianjin International School in China, International School of Tanganyika in Tanzania, and PTIS in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I have taught the following: 2 years Pre-K (4/5 year olds) 2 years in K (5/6 year olds) 9 years in 1st Grade (6/7 year olds) 1 year in 2nd Grade (7/8 year olds) 1 year in 3rd Grade (8/9 year olds) 1 year 7th Grade Science I coach teachers in variety of ways, online through Harvards WIDE World online education courses and face-to-face as an IB PYP Workshop Leader and a Compass Model of Sustainability Workshop Leader.
