*-AR /Long A Sort---Students will sort the word cards and match them to the
correct barn. Sorting mats, and recording sheets are included. The �ar cards can also be
used as a word family sort. Students will write the words to each word family down and then
name the word family. This would be a good enrichment activity.
*Word Family Sort---Word families are �art, -art, -ar.
*Shape Boxes---Students will write the correct spelling pattern in for each picture.
Then write the correct word on the line.
*Word Riddles---Students will read the riddles and write the correct long I word on the line.
*Making Words Lesson---Students will build words that you give them. Using
directions, add one letter, change a letter, etc. Directions for how I use it included. My
students LOVE doing these. They go up to the board and write them. They monitor each
other and help each other with the letters too. They like to be the teachers.
