This is a 7-page packet with a variety of math problems and exercises on reading higher numbers in the Mayan math stystem. There is a list of numbers 0-20, addition and subtraction problems, and recognition of higher numbers. An answer key with an explanation follows the most difficult exercise.
Yes, this is a fascinating study and it helps students develop critical thinking skills and forces them to work step by step to figure out all the numbers.

Wow, this was great. I don't have to spend tons of time making my own.
Hello, Mishkaoreo,
Thank you so much for the kudos. I really appreciate it. Yes, it took a very long time to put this together, but it sure was a lot of fun for your students as well as mine. It is a great culture activity as well as one that shows that our math system is NOT the only one. If you're a math teacher, you might want to check out my "Arabic Influence on language, numbers, food, and culture." There are 2 exercises writing what they call "Indian" numbers.
Good luck with the rest of the semester. Thanks for purchasing my product.
