This project is a great research teaching tool that is also fun! Students work to plan a trip, traveling to places that cover the history of the World studied in class throughout the year. The project requires the reporting of history, geography, math, and so much more. Students have choice in the presentation of their product, with many creating great scrapbooks and others doing a photo diary or travel brochure.

I was wondering if you had a rubric for the semester travel research project? I am having a diffcult time coming up with one myself.

I do not since I was so open with the options for the students in completing the assignment. I ended up grading based on the many varieties of the assignment completed.

I have taught all areas of Social Studies for eight years and English I-III for the past year. My experience ranges from teaching grades 6 through 12, and I have had all levels of classes, including Special Education collaboration and gifted and talented. I have also taught on an advanced curriculum team and honors/advanced classes at the high school level.
