This is an article I found on the internet and put into a word document. It is about math careers and the benefits of studying math. On the final page, I ask the students to write a three paragraph reflective essay about what they have read in the previous three pages. There is space in the handout to write, and I ask them to write an introduction, body, and conclusion.

I am in my sixth year of teaching. My certification is in Math grades 7-12. I began teaching in an IB/Magnet High School in Rochester, NY where I taught Precalculus, Computer Programming, and Math A. After 2 successful years, my family moved to Florida where we could enjoy the sunshine year round. For the past 4 years, I have been teaching in a suburban High School in Florida. In addition to teaching Geometry, Algebra, and AP Calculus AB, I co-chair the math department. I am currently working on my National Board Certification.
