Creating and Stretching Out a Graphic Organizer
Do you want to increase writing proficiency? This lesson models how to pick out key words from a prompt, create a graphic organizer, and stretch the graphic organizer into strong paragraphs. It's complete with a finished story. Then, it compares the "stretched-out" story to a "boring" story. Mini-Lessons could include: strong controlling idea, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions. Since mini-lessons should only be about 10-15 minutes, this PowerPoint could easily be used several days with each day focusing on a different skill.
