This PowerPoint file contains 22 slides. It overs the 3 general writing stages: planning, drafting, and revising, and related knowledge for each stage. For example, methods for planning (free writing, looping, listing, idea mapping), essay components for drafting (thesis for introduction, topic sentences for body paragraphs, conclusion do's and don'ts) and areas of emphasis for revising (focus, organization, clarity and support). It is an effective way to teach and help students understand the fundamentals of writing.
