This document is intended to show students how to write a well-developed paragraph. It is a sample that explicitly outlines the elements of a well-developed paragraph: Topic Sentence, Example(s), Explanation(s), and Closing. While this lesson encourages students to use three (3) examples, teachers can adjust it to meet the needs of their own students. This lesson also includes a sample outline as part of the writing process.

I teach in a New York City Public High School. This year is my sixth year teaching English there. For two years I served as the AVID Coordinator. In addition to teaching, I have served as a Cooperating Teacher for student teachers and a mentor for a new teacher.
