I use this activity in my first grade classroom during the first quarter when they are learning to put sounds together and write words phonetically. The file contains 6 picture cards (with 20 images on each card), teacher's notes page and a recording sheet for students. I teach modeling lessons on saying words slowly and writing the letter(s) for each sound heard in the word prior to placing this activity in a literacy center. Display the picture cards on your SmartBoard and model the activity (using the recording sheet) and your students are sure to be successful! This activity is a great way for students to develop early writing skills.
