Reading by professional actor and teacher Thom Bray. A response to a letter written by 8 year old Virginia O’Hanlon to the New York Sun newspaper. The response was penned by Francis Pharcellus Church, and published on September 21, 1897. It has since become a holiday classic. Recorded December 14, 2008 Read by Thom Bray. WORDPLAY is the brain child of Thom Bray, who has been an actor and television writer/producer for over 30 years. At the age of 50, he went back to school and got his Masters in Teaching so that he might pass on to young students his love of the arts. In the last 5 years he has taught middle and high school Drama. He also teaches the craft of Television Script Writing on the university level. Wordplay Theatre Company, based in Portland, Oregon, dramatizes classic short stories and poetry, performing live, on stage, and in recordings available through the miracle of the Internet.
