Are you searching for activities to introduce or reinforce multiplication/division concepts? If so, this is a great activity to use with a small group or with one child. You can also print additional pages and have an entire class working on it at the same time. I recommend printing the cookies, jars, and pigs on card stock and everything should be laminated for durability.
Students will have an opportunity to act out simple multiplication word problems with paper cookies and jars. They will then use the recording sheet to show their equations and answers. Each word problem has a cookie and cookie jar theme. This is a great way to introduce or reinforce grouping to students.
The division activity is called Pigging Out! Students will be able to divide the cookies among the pigs. There is a recording sheet included, which allows them to record their equations and answers. There is no need to print out additional cookies because you can use the same ones you used for the multiplication activity. This will assist you in introducing or reinforcing division concepts to students.
