Math:
Ten Frame Match-up Students will count the zoo animals in the ten frames. Clip the correct number circle onto the ten frame using a clothes pin.
Number Book (Number Word and Counting) Stamp a number/word. Print offer booklet and let students use letter stampers/stickers to create their booklet. Print Booklets for each student. Give them theme related stickers/clipart
Zoo Themed Counting Mat: Have students count out objects in center activity-Pair students to assess one another.
Zoo Animal Pattern Booklet (AB, AAB, ABB, AABB, ABC) Students will "create" patterns using clip art images.
Zoo Animal Counting Book (11-20) Students will reinforce number recognition will this number book creation.
Zoo Animal Themed Counting Mat: This mat is perfect in a center to help students work on their addition. Use bingo chips/zoo animal shaped erasers for ten frame counters.
Literacy:
Making Words using "Zoo Animals" Students will use letter tiles to create words.
Alphabet Memory/Concentration Letter Game Reinforce letter recognition with these letter cards- Can also be used for matching using clothespins or Go Fish Game.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am in my fourth year of teaching. I was a non-traditional student who decided to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher after many years. My first three years of teaching, I worked as a special education teacher serving Kindergarten and First Grade students who had deficits in math and reading. Although my job could be quite challenging and overwhelming at times, I absolutely loved it! This year, I ventured into a classroom. Currently, I am a second grade teacher and loving every minute of it!! When I look back, I am so happy I made the decision to return to the classroom seven years ago and pursue my education and fulfill my dreams.
