This is the perfect writing supplement to any zoo unit! It contains two pages for 13 different common zoo animals. Students are required to label the featured animal, write two facts about their animal, draw and label their own diagram, and complete a sentence frame for their animal. There are enough animals to choose from to last for 2 weeks of writing time. This unit works well for kindergarten, second semester and can work for first grade, as well. It really emphasizes the features of nonfiction text for young learners. Kim Swoveland
Great worksheets to get my Kinders writing more. It's almost the end of the year, so we really need to hone our skills for first grade. Thanks for the journal!
My class loved doing this book. Each day they would ask which animal were they going to learn about!
