Deanna,
I am currently a long-term substitute for a SDC K/1 classroom. We are going on a field trip to the zoo and this looks like a fun unit! My students are all closer to the K level, do you think these activities would be appropriate for them? I have to spend my own money and would be disappointed if I couldn't use it for them.
Thanks!
Colleen

I just love this (and many others) unit! Thank you for all of your wonderful work. I have only found the tail, hair, hands, and feet for the monkey. Are the rest somewhere else?
Thank you

Hi Deanna! Your work is absolutely wonderful and very inspiring. I was wondering what programs you use to make your units? Where do you get your pictures (without breaking copyright laws), where do you get your fonts, and do you just make your units on microsoft word? Thanks so much!

Hi There, I use Word or Powerpoint to create my units. I get clipart from places like etsy, scrappindoodles, Thistlegirl and there are also lots of GREAT clipart sellers right here on TPT. Good luck!

I am a Georgia teacher and we are ....of course beginning to make our math units for the CCGPS's. Do you have math and language arts units that follow the order of the CCGPS's? Are you going to create any or do you know anyone that has already developed these?

I don't do everything in the packets. When I create my units I try to include way more than you could use so that everyone can find something they like. For this unit in particular I study one animal per day. Hope that helps! :)

What animals are included in this unit? My 1st grade class takes a field trip to the zoo every year and I am thinking this packet could be useful! However, our zoo doesn't have zebras or giraffes so I was wondering what other zoo animals are included?

Hi again!
Does your zoo unit have a pattern for a monkey? It's the only animal I need. Is it possible just to get the pattern for the monkey? I teach 2nd grade & my class mascot is the monkey? Thanks for your help!

LOVE it. I'm a librarian so I'll be tweaking the activities more to fit different stories we might read together in the library than necessarily teaching it as a unit. But I love it. There's just one little thing that I hate to even bring up because it's so nitpicky ... on page 17. The apostrophe in the sentence "Giraffe's have a long blue tongue as long as your arm." Is it just me or should there NOT be an apostrophe there? The word "have" is demonstrating that the giraffes possess tongues. If it was something like "Giraffe's blue tongues are as long as your arm" then the apostrophe would be important. Anyway. It's not like the kids will notice. The English teaching major in me needs to go back and check because I don't even remember the rules exactly. :/

Hi Deanna!
Thanks so much for your hard work in putting together these units. My class and I love them. I have both of the packets for the zoo unit, but I cannot find the patterns for the lion (except the mane). I'm hoping I'm not just missing it. Can you please tell me where to find them?

Thanks!
Emily

Hi emily, I revised the packet a few weeks ago. Everything is in one file now. Go to your download folder and it will let you redownload the file. :)

On my Manage my account section, it keeps flashing red that I have to download something from the Zoo unit. Not sure where to go for this? I do not want to repurchase the unit.
Thanks and Happy Mother's Day to you!

You don't have to repurchase anything. Once you've bought the item it is yours. :). You just click on the link and redownload it. If your link has expired you click for an extension. I was able to get all the patterns and everything into one file. If you're happy with what you've got you can ignore it. :)

Hi Deanna,
A couple of the art projects say that patterns are found in a pattern packet, but it is not included in the unit. (alligator, giraffe) I downloaded it again to double check but there are no patterns in the packet. Am I missing something? Thanks.

hi Julie, The unit was way too big so I had to break it up. If you look on page 2 there is a note from me that tells you where to find the rest of the unit. It is a free download and I don't want to post the link on here because it is only for people who purchased the unit. if you can't find it email me at kindergartenteacher@cox.net

Deanna,

I purchased your Zoo Unit...when I get to page 43 the document automatically closes. I have tried to redownload and it does the exact same thing. What could the problem be and how do I fix it? My email address is dkohls@musd20.org...thank you for your help!
