This is a 50 slide PowerPoint presenation (including a title page and a resource page) about the history of microbiology. The presention is actually a 10 day lesson plan, with activities, videos (links to youtube) and projects within the 10 days. On the first page, in the notes section, you will notice an outline of the 10 days with a suggestion slide number for each day. It also includes the other few things I do in this chapter, resulting in a 14 day lesson plan for class.
The presenation covers the basics, such as what microbiology is, important people invovled with the development of microbiology, and how it relates to diseases.
Some of the information should be a review, as most students would have had some of this in a general biology class.
I use this presenation as the first chapter to microbiology. In my Advanced Biology class, for seniors, we spend a quarter of the year on Microbiology- this presenation/lesson plan starts it off.
