This is an excel document. One one of the pages you place your sight words and it imports them into a checker board template automatically. It is wonderful K-5. Very easy to place words into the sheet and it takes care of the game board for you. Even people not comfortable with computers this is so easy you can do it!
Can be used with any subject area. Place math facts to practice.
The game is played just like checkers but if they know the word or the math fact they can move to that square. It is up to the teacher whether or not they allow jumping or double jumps.

You should be able to use any words. You may have to make the font smaller to fit the words on.

It is something that you use over and over. I change the words many times. I taught 2nd grade, Kindergarten and 1st and each time I could change the words. It looks scary but it is not. On one of the pages is a checkers board. Then there is another page that has a place to write the words and it automatically will change the word on the checkerboard.
