TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I will be teaching 1st grade in Fall 2014! I have nine years of teaching experience (3 years in 3rd; 6 years in 1st). I love what I do! I truly believe in collaborating with other educators and making our jobs a little less stressful! Work smarter, not harder! :)

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to incorporate hands-on, engaging, and meaningful activities with my instruction. I also try to incorporate technology as much as possible. I believe students can learn more and grow as individuals if they are collaborating and communicating effectively with the teacher and their classmates.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher Awards: nominated for Teacher of the Year ('10-11 and '12-13) Blog Awards: TCD Top 50 Elementary Teacher Blogs, The Versatile Blogger award, I Heart Your Blog award, Top 10 blog award A HUGE thank you to all of my followers and fellow educators who have given me these awards!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor's Degree from Georgia College and State University (May 2004); Master's Degree from the University of Georgia (July 2009); Specialist degree from Piedmont College (December 2011)
