I saw your store on the home page of TeachersPayTeachers; so, I thought I would look at your freebie. I left you a rating. Well done and very funny! I also became a follower of your store, and I hope you will reciprocate. I look forward to more products from you.(By the way, love your quote. I also believe math should be fun!)

If you have time, please rate one of my free products listed below.

Sorry it took me so long to respond to your kind words. Thank you very much. You seem to have a very nice collection of products as well. I don't find myself on this site as much, now that I am no longer in the classroom (I recently took a job as a mathematics content writer), but I have officially made myself a follower of you as well (which is quite a privilege, apparently, as you are the only one!) Thank you much, and best wishes to you and your clearly successful career.

Dear Aaron,

My name is Jack Dennison. I am the Editor-in-Chief of www.FunnelBrain.com, an educational website. I am writing to you because the quality of the work you have posted to PTP distinguishes you as a talented author. I am looking for teacher-authors to create custom study review materials for FunnelBrain (on a paid basis, of course).

These study materials would take the form of online flashcards, quizzes, and study guides for high school and college level courses, as well as for certain standardized exams such as the GMAT, the SAT or the GRE. We are also interested in lesson plans built around activities that can take place on www.FunnelBrain.com.

If you are interested in a paid writing assignment, please email me at jack@funnelbrain.com, and I will respond with details on the available assignments. In the meantime, please feel free to browse FunnelBrain.com.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Jack Dennison

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 13 years of teaching experience in both middle school and high school classrooms. I have taught in public, private, charter, and alternative school settings. My specialty is mathematics, but most of my experiences have involved the teaching of several subjects such as English, history, science, and government.

MY TEACHING STYLE

The only time I really enjoy teaching is when students are actively engaged with the content. I am a big believer in "hands-on" learning, and I will always look first to assess with a meaningful project before giving tests.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Seeing that one of my students has passed a standardized test is always a shining moment for me!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Whittier College in 1996, where I received a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a secondary teaching certification in math as well. An opportunity to teach in Tucson arose shortly after graduation. Always partial to the state of Arizona, and huge Wildcat fan, I jumped at the chance. I have now been teaching in Tucson for 12 years.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

In 2002 I met my lovely wife Lauren at an inflatable Sumo Wrestling event where I was referee. The conversation was brief, as I was just on my way to a softball game--but begrudgingly I went to it. She allowed me to think about her for several months before our paths crossed again. . .until appearing as a surprise guest to a party I was hosting. The rest is history. We married in May of 2006, and have just celebrated our third happy year together, with many more to come!
