I began my career teaching in a small, Christian school. I taught a combined class of 3rd and 4th graders. Then I moved up with them and taught the same students as 4th and 5th graders. Before my 3rd year of teaching, my husband and I moved. That year, I taught Reading Recovery in a public school. The next year, I began teaching 2nd grade in the same school I attended as a child. After 4 years, I chose to move to a Kindergarten classroom when the opportunity presented itself.

I have a degree in Christian School Teaching from Central Bible College. I also have a Masters in Elementary Education from Drury University.

I've been married for 9 years. I have a son who will be 2 in a few weeks. We have a very loyal puppy named Moose.
