I have taught in an urban public school for seven years. I taught regular kindergarten (K2) for two years, and have taught pre-Kindergarten (K1) for the past four years. Before that I taught preschool and toddlers for several years.
I use the Opening the World of Learning (OWL) curriculum for literacy, and Building Blocks for math. I love to teach thematically, and I love to integrate art and science into my teaching. The moments I live for are when children are buzzing with excitement and discovering new things.
My classroom is used as an early childhood model for the district. We are also currently going through NAEYC accreditation.
I received a BS in Early Childhood Education from Boston University, and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2012.
I am addicted to blogging, reading, buying children's books, baking, dancing and the state of Maine.
