I live in california and can't seem to stay with a district. I am too child oriented rather than district oriented. How do I go about providing this service to parents yet not alienating the district?
I even advocate for others in my son's school but there are those advocates and lawyers who will not work in their own child's district. So you have to pick those districts that you can not get emotionally involved with. I think a course on becoming a mediator, even just a quick 3 hour one, would probably help you to stay away from the emotional end of things. Good luck.
