Good study guide. The only thing that I didn't catch that I would have changed was referring to pi as 3.14. We are told to stress 3.14 as an approximation and use either the pi symbol or the pi button on the calculator for more accuracy.

This is a task to practice operations with integers in an engaging way. The fun part is trying to figure out how to translate the text language into grammatically correct sentences and then using the assigned values for the letters to come up with the sum of each word. The final part is finding the sum of the entire note. On the second part, there is another note to translate, find the sum of each word, but on that part the students find the product of the words.

When the team picks a box (with the person in it), you click on the person. A problem comes up which they have to solve. When they solve it, click on the screen and the answer pops up. Click on the house and it takes you back to the home page. If they got it right, you put an x or 0 in that black box on the tic tac toe board. Also, you keep up with the number of x and 0's on the left to show how many turns it took to get three in a row.

With smaller classes, I put it up on the smartboard, divide the class into two teams, and let the team captains choose the box they want to try to solve for their x or o. All of our kids have to bring laptops to school everyday... so with larger classes, I have partners log onto one laptop and play each other. Thanks!
