I purchased the pocket chart activities but they won;t print correctly. The second page just prints the black and white bus with black dark lines throughout the page, no words I am not sure why. As to the Penguin Parade Sight Word packet, I did originally find it on your blog. When you click to download, it takes you to the TPT sight and to the Penguin Beginning Sound Packet. That is how I realized the mix up of the packets on TPT.

Problem: 1. I love your Under the Sea big book and emergent reader. When I printed the big book, the words starfish and octopus did not print correctly although in the print preview they show up correctly.
2. I want to download you Penguin Parade sight word packet. The picture of the packet shows on your TPT list, but in the print part it is listed as Penguin Beginning Sound Game, which is what you get when you download. However, the thumbnails show the sight word packet.

Hi Pat! Oh, my goodness! Thank you so much for pointing out the Penguin Parade/Beginning Sounds issue - I have no idea what happened but I fixed it. Now when you go to download the Penguin Beginning Sound game it should show the correct thumbnails AND attachment. The Penguin Parade Sight Word packet was a freebie from my blog. Check there - I didn't list it on TpT. As far as the Under the Sea freebie book, I am not having any trouble downloading/printing it. I'm not sure what the issue is. Perhaps you want to contact TpT? I don't think it's an issue on the website - sometimes you have to upgrade Adobe (free) and then try viewing and printing. Please e-mail me if you are still having trouble and I can send you the file via e-mail.

I would like a t that doesn't have a hook on the bottom, and alternative styles for the numbers 1, 3 and 4 (e.g. straight line for 1, curved line at the top of the 3 and the other style of 4).

On the sheets where the students write the longest word and shortest word, would it be possible to change the length of the lines? One of my kindergarten students asked, "Why do we write the shortest word on the long line and the longest word on the short line?" I thought it was very perceptive. If you are looking to improve the product, I think changing the length of the lines to match the word would be helpful for the students that are not able to read longest and shortest.

That way, you can prevent this from happening again. Remember that the Write the Room Complete Set is a ZIPPED file meaning that you will have to EXTRACT each file individually and save them so that you can use them. You shouldn't have the black lines. Hope this helps!

That way, you can prevent this from happening again. Remember that the Write the Room Complete Set is a ZIPPED file meaning that you will have to EXTRACT each file individually and save them so that you can use them. You shouldn't have the black lines. Hope this helps!

It turns out that his brother's son (named John Albanese) lives is a forensic science professor at the Univeristy of Windsor. - How Many Spots on the Cow? game where students count and match the correct number from 1-10 OR they can clip clothespins to the cow as they count out
- Roll-An-Animal Graph -> you can play this in various ways. I have included a die as well as cut-outs of each animal where you can give them to your students in a baggie and have them count out and graph how many they have
- there is a follow-up Tally sheet to accompany the above graphing activity
There are also a LOT more activities for your pocket chart station, journal writing, sorting animals (farm vs. zoo), story, class book and more! Thanks for the question!

Hi Anna-Marie! This unit has A LOT of activities (seriating, counting, ordering numbers, ABC fun, sight word identification, etc.) - most of them involve pumpkins, not Jack-o-Lanterns. There are 3 activities in the unit with Jack-o-Lanterns:

What am I doing wrong? I finally used the ones I had previously copied and put the hard copy through the copy machine and it worked. Any thoughts?

Hi! It's a scarecrow glyph the kids make using brown paper lunch bags (you can use various sizes)...hmmmm...if you enlarge the templates included in the pack you could make the scarecrow glyph REALLY big by using those large brown paper leaf bags (you know, the ones that you stuff with leaves for garbage collection?). He would be gigantic! Could that be what you were thinking? Hope this helps! :)

Hi! I actually purchased a font to use for this activity - it's called "Penmanship Print" and it has the lines already built in when you type out the letter (meaning I can't edit the letters at all). I use this font for everything so that my kids can stay within the lines (names, sight words, etc.). I am so sorry that you don't like the font - it does appear on my preview thumbnail pictures. I don't have a Zaner Bloser font. I will be willing to correct the pages for you in that font (I'm going to search for it now)- please e-mail me at kindergartenteacher@rogers.com and we can touch base then.

Yes, most of the pocket chart activities are predictable text (I am a yellow apple, I am a green apple, etc.) until the end of the year in which they may focus on various sight words and more "reading" the sentences.
