Thanks for contacting me. I checked the file and it is opening correctly with the graphics. so it is probably a problem with the computer or Windows program you are using. Try to re-download it and if that doesn't work try another computer. Sometimes different versions of Windows interferes with word docs. If it still doesn't load let me know. Each of the 3 student answer sheets (pages 10, 20, and 30 of the pdf file) give directions to round to the nearest 10, even though the rounding required is to the nearest 10, then nearest 100, and lastly the nearest 1,000.

Hello. Thank you for your question! Yes, I had their composition books, but I made copies of the test page and used that to send home because of the same reason you had-not getting them back. Here are two things you may want to consider. 1. If you are required to have them do it in their books then photocopy it their tests when they are done and send the copy with the attached sheet for the parents home. 2. Photocopy the page and have the students do the test and then either run it through again (so you can keep a copy in their portfolios and send the original home with the summary test sheet I use) or just send it home if you don't need it after you mark it. I hope these suggestions help! The activity is an extension for people who have Lakeshore's Reading Comprehension centers. The centers are not long enough for districts like mine that have 40 minute blocks so I created an activity to use if you have the center. If you don't have the center, I can see if there is a way to give you your money back. They are great centers though if you are interested in buying them from Lakeshore-just not long enough on their own for my 40 min. block with 3rd graders. www.lakeshorelearning.com product EE380X. I LOVE my job. Sometimes, the teacher is the only person that a child might get a smile or a hug from, or even an encouraging word and I always try to remember that. I work hard to make my lessons and activities engaging and sometimes out of the box when compared to normal paper worksheets. I'm always adapting things as I make them. Color, cute graphics, and a different approach can work wonders when teaching a topic that is difficult or boring!
