Spiders are arachnids and snails are mollusks, not insects. Also, worms are not insects so I'm not quite sure why they are included in the "Insect Unit." Also, you need to make sure to clarify why a caterpillar is an insect (it's a stage of life for an insect).
Other than that, I'm pleased with the aesthetics of the packet and the activities. Very cute! When using TpT, we teachers just need to do our homework to make sure things are accurate!

I'm sorry that you do not include these creatures in your insects theme but many teachers do. This unit is not about life stages, it is about bugs. I would suggest that you read product

I have them posted on a bulletin board and I simply write a letter if I need to. At the end of each day, I take a minute to fill in the empty spots with stickers. I only send them home at the end of the month so it takes very little time each day. If some parents want a daily check-in, I have the students write a letter or draw a smiley face in their agenda at the end of the day :)

I LOVE the read/write the room alphabet. It's great for my pre-k students. I was wondering if you would consider making a recording sheet that shows all the letters and they can color it when they find it instead of writing the letter.

I teach first grade so I tend to stay away from using tracers until later in the year. I print the template on colored papers and have the kids cut them out.
My 2nd grade colleagues always use the tracers. They print it all on card stock and cut them out (the make a few tracers for the class to share). The kids then trace them on colored paper and cut.
Another way is to simply print everything on white paper and have the kids color the different parts :)

Just printed this bundle and noticed that the "read/write the room" cards for the short u sound are labeled #1-4 on each of the 6 pages, rather than being numbered 1-24 as are the other sets. I will probably white-out and renumber the cards, but thought you might like to correct the download. Thanks for an excellent resource!

I purchased the Smiley Sentences and I used it right away. I loved it and so did my children. We do all of our writing in a notebook or journal and I don't need my class to write their name on their paper. Is it possible for you to change the last step to: I wrote the secret code date on my paper. I don't know how difficult this would be, but I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks for creating a great tool!

I love the smiley sentences, but have HS students! One in particular has dysgraphia, so this would be especially helpful for him (with the finger space idea) but this is too childish to use in the classroom. Is there any way to modify this into a HS version, not just for him, but for all my "poor writers"?

I along with my Kinder Krew teachers at James Bacon love love love your poster!!! Could we ask a BIG favor and get you to rewrite it with terms and things we use? If it is not to much trouble, please?
I started my sentence with a capital letter.
I put finger spaces between my words.
I used punctuation.
I made it make sense.
My writing is neat and I tried my best.

Love this idea!! I'm new at this, so sorry if my question is silly, but how do you download this as far as a printer? Does it print in pieces? How big is it? Does it fit a tradition bulletin board? I teach middle school and this would be a great why to welcome students with a discussion on the Olympics:)

The template comes with all the pieces you need to put together the little Olympics guys that you see in the picture. All you have to do is print on whatever color paper you want, cut them out, and glue the whole thing together. Hope this helps :)

Wow! Thanks so much for your comment. I'm glad you like my writing portfolio. So sorry, I don't have it in blackline because the clip art that I used does not come that way. I also don't have the budget for color ink so I'll be printing it in grayscale. Another option is to print every month in grayscale but on different colored paper (for example, orange paper for November, pink for February, etc). That way, you don't have to use up color ink but you still get a little bit of color in there ;)
