I have taught 5th grade for 12 years. Although I have experience teaching all subject areas, I currently teach everything except social studies and science.

My teaching style is very flexible. I use a lot of hands-on activities, technology integration, and performance based tasks.

I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Dalton State College. My master's degree was earned from State University of West Georgia. I recently finished my specialist degree in teaching and learning from Georgia Southern University. I also have a minor in instructional technology.

When I'm not teaching, I spend the majority of my time trying to keep up with my precocious seven year old. He is truly a blessing in so many ways. He has immense patience when mommy is working, grading papers, or looking for new ideas....most of the time :)
