There are approximately 15 per page. The words are not arranged "by list" (example, HFW on one page, Dolch on another page...). The pages are not labeled as such. You are too funny... Yes, it is a loaded question! :-) Learning Focused is a framework for planning and delivering instruction. It is not a "program" that you teach your students. Rather, it is for teachers. Through LFS training, you learn how to develop lesson plans that are targeted and strategic. You learn how to develop strong units of learning that are standards-driven and keep students actively engaged throughout every lesson. LFS has 5 High Impact Strategies that their research shows impacts instruction the most, and that all teachers should be doing consistently. They incude: Summarizing (throughout and at the end of the lesson), Advance Organizers, Vocabulary in Context, Nonlinguistic Representations, and Extending Thinking. You can use the LFS strategies with whatever reading or math program your district currently uses. LFS helps teachers plan and deliver instruction in the most effective way to keep students actively engaged and accountable for their learning. You might be able to tell from my reply... Hi! Thanks for your purchase. I hope your school year is off to a great start. After reading your questions above, I reviewed my "product overview" for both products to be certain. "Writing" questions are not included with the ELA questions. However, the product description lists the many topics that are included. Also, the math set that you purchased states in the description that the questions are based on the KINDERGARTEN Common Core Standards (this is in capital letters). I then elaborated in the product overview that while the EQ's are based on Kindergarten, the questions could also be used in Pre-K or even first grade because many of the skills overlap. I hope this clarifies. I will perhaps be adding WRITING essential questions to my store within the month, so stay tuned! I hope you are able to use many of the essential questions you purchased. I feel the same way! so many teachers on this website have chatted with me, encouraged me, changed their documents a little just for my classroom and made me feel so excited about teaching! I will definitely share your work in my presentation notebooks. I buy them at Staples and use the landscape mode of printing and then I will display them for the kiddoes since I do not have wall space near my kids. Therefore I am brining the display right to them as we gather on the rug for discussions! I couldn't be more thrilled with what you wrote because I teach ELL kids who need all the picture clues--thanks so much! Office Max has a sale for teachers today and I am off to buy ink! YES! All 39 pages are pure Essential questions for reading and cover all Common Core Standards for Kindergarten. They are all written in student-friendly language and include corresponding clipart, illustrations, and/or examples. Each page contains one essential question, and the corresponding Common Core Standard is on the bottom right corner of each page for teacher reference. TEACHING EXPERIENCE
My 15 years of experience in the educational field includes 2 years teaching pre-kindergarten, 6 years teaching kindergarten, 1 year looping to first grade, 3 years serving as instructional coach for elementary K-5, and 3 years as a reading specialist and instructional coach. Throughout my years of teaching, I also presented at teacher conferences and provided various types of professional development in my district (including Learning Focused Schools and LETRS). This year I am returning to the Kindergarten classroom, and could not be more excited!
