I have taught Preschool, Kindergarten, and 2nd grade.
I like to consider my classroom to be structured and predictable, but also relaxed and home like. I enjoy a classroom when students feel like we are family. I believe in pushing all students to excel (especially when I'm told by others it isn't possible). It is also important to me that my students know that we all have our strengths and weaknesses. Everyone is special and an important part of our family!

After graduating Emporia State University, I taught 1/2 day Preschool and 1/2 day Kindergarten for one year. When our district moved to full day Kindergarten, I taught full time Kindergarten for seven years. My next move took me to where I am now, second grade. I love each age group I've taught, but after my fourth year in second grade, I must admit it is my favorite!
I live in the country with my husband, three kids, a golden retriever, and chickens. I love to read and spend time with my family. Some of my favorites include: Mexican food, the color yellow, being a mom, and teaching!
